History Recap for Leander

A quick history lesson: originally called Baghdad, the City of Leander is named after Leander “Catfish” Brown.  Leander Brown was one of two men responsible for completeing the railroad line thriugh the area; the railroad was a big deal back in the late 1800′s.  Leander Independent School District is the largest district in Williamson County and LISD is the fastest growing school district in the state of Texas- now that is some growth!
